The Veterinary Training Camp is for veterinarians who want to improve their routine surgery skills. Subjects covered include: Pre-operative assessment, behavior and animal handling, surgical techniques, suture materials, and a variety of use and patterns in spay incisions.

Black Sea Rescue
When a dog was struck by a car near a military base, it got the attention of a nearby platoon. The pack mates staying by the dead dog's side that night earned the platoon's respect. A friendship ensued, where dogs and humans passively adopted each other. As the platoon was getting ready to ship the dogs back to America, the dog catchers trapped the dogs and took them to the pound. The platoon followed and confronted the dog catchers, and was able to transport most of the dogs back to the US.

Partnership with Top Veterinarians in Romania
RAR has now funded 18 Spayathons with Dr. Aurelian, Dr. Pepe, and in some cases, Dr. Olson from the USA, in various cities, including Bucharest, Popesti, Giurgiu, Sibiu, Craiova, Slatina, Glina, Galati, Tecuci, Cluj, Turda, and Braila.

Spay/Neuter and Veterinary Services
RAR has funded the spayeuter of more than 19,000 animals in Romania to date. We have also successfully treated animals for accidents, dog bites, car injuries, mange, fleas, ticks, chewing lice, and more.

Adoption
We have helped to find homes for more than 350 stray and disabled dogs. Romania Animal Rescue has worked in cooperation with other organizations, like Humane Animal Rights, Disabled Dog Rescue, GIA, and APAM to get these dogs off the streets and into loving and supportive homes.

Education
Our unique education program has sent US veterinarians to Romania to train local veterinarians in becoming excellent surgeons, using anesthesia and analgesia. The veterinarians have also spayed and neutered hundreds of dogs during their training camps in Romania. We have trained vets all over Romania, including Arad, Galati, Bucharest, Jilava, Sibiu, Cluj/Napoca, Buzau, and Oradea. These newly trained vets have also been given surgical equipment to use for their surgeries.

Humane Society Spay Day Photo Contest
In 2010, Dr. Aurelian's dog, Ciao, won the Humane Society Spay Day Photo Contest. Dr. Aurelian will be attending the Genesis Awards in Hollywood in 2011 as a special guest. Dr. Aurelian was invited to be a presenter at the HSUS/HSI EXPO in Nashville, TN, in May of 2010.
