Bubu the Lovebug Wants a Home
Bubu's smile says it all. This loving, gentle dog knows she is now in good hands. But not long ago her life was different. She was living in a park in Bucharest, where she trusted the wrong human and was severely beaten. When an animal lover found her, Bubu's eyes had turned white from the cranial trauma.
Bubu was rushed to a vet, who saved her life. She is recovering quickly and although she still shies from people who might hurt her, she is becoming the confident dog she once was. She is an absolutely friendly girl who would never hurt a soul; she just wants to feel the same from her human.
Bubu is no more than a year old and is spayed. She will be catching a flight to the US on June 1. Do you or does anyone you know want to adopt this sweet, lucky young lady? Bubu will be so grateful, and your reward will be seeing the wag of the tail and the contented smile that says she's finally found her forever home.

Den Mother
A dog gave birth to six puppies, three girls and three boys. She hid them well, under a basement that nobody knew of, not even the person feeding her everyday. After seven weeks they emerged from their protective den and started exploring.
We did the two dewormings and now we prepare them for the first vaccination. Unfortunately we do not have a place for them, so they are still on the street. We are looking for families to adopt them. Ploiesti Update
Thirty dogs and three cats were abandoned in a house in Ploiesti when the owner died. RAR worked with numerous organizations in Europe to find homes or shelters outside of Romania for them. Most of the dogs have been adopted. These are six of the dogs from Ploiesti. An animal rescue organization from Finland found homes for two of them. RAR paid for their medical care and spay/neuter. Teamwork again!

Stray Animals Day: April 4, 2011
Stray Animals Day raised awareness in 17 countries that the problem of stray animal overpopulation affects us all. Romania Animal Rescue participated with a Spay Day in Tecuci.
The Romanian government chose an auspicious time to plan the abolition of humane stray animals legislation. With the world heightened to Stray Animals Day, protests in the United States and Romania pressured lawmakers not to reverse the progress made in promoting animal welfare in Romania. They are expected to cast their vote this week. We will keep you posted to the effect our protests made on the leaders of the Romanian people.
