Update: Stuart Gets His First Bed
A railroad worker in Timisoara, Romania, was desperate to help the starving dogs at the railroad tracks. With the help of RAR member donations, we were able to support this Romanian animal lover in helping the dogs. The dogs that could be caught were given vet care, and the man now has food to get the dogs through the winter and beyond.
Stuart, though, would not have made it through the winter. He had such bad mange that his coat had been reduced to 45 hairs. Infested with fleas and severely undernourished at only 15 pounds, Stuart nevertheless remains a trusting soul, with hopeful eyes.

Stuart trusted the right people. Our friend Andra brought Stuart from the train tracks in Timisoara to Dr. Aurelian, Romania Animal Rescue's vet, a half days drive away. At Dr. A's clinic, Stuart got a flea treatment, lots of pampering, and spent his first night ever in a warm bed. He will be treated for non-contagious mange and neutered, and when he is strong again we will place him in a forever home. He is about two years old and very sweet, although he is still a bit shy. All we need is a caring and supportive environment to show him how much fun it can be to be a dog. Please This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Our hope is that he will never sleep by the tracks or struggle to find food again. The key to making sure no dog has to live like Stuart is to spay and neuter street dogs and make surgeries accessible for household pets. RAR's spay and neuter campaigns in Romania are changing the lives of both the animals and the Romanians who love them, but who don't have the resources to help.
Can you donate to RAR's spay and neuter campaigns? Together we are changing the lives of Romania’s animals. A dollar goes a long way in Romania! Every dollar goes directly to spaying and neutering.

Update: Mr. Cenac
The land has been cleared in Galati to make way for Mr. Cenac's new shelter. Stichting Wereld Asielen is still raising funds for its construction. The dogs are safe at the moment. Winter has arrived in Romania, and construction cannot begin until the Spring. At least the dogs are protected from the harsh weather right now! With the promise of them being moved in the next few months, we are biding them time!
