Bitza

Bitza

Hi Nancy, finally arrived home with Bitza. He slept on my lap, the whole 2 hours drive back home. Once in a while he looked up at me, and licked my hands, and every time he looks at me he wags his tail. Oh, I just love this dog.

Norocoasa

Norocoasa

In 2009, I had lost my dog and I suppose I was more vulnerable to the situation. After a few days, I met a sweet little dog, the only one in the neighborhood who was not initially aggressive. (Once the dogs know an individual won't hurt them, they are more "wags than barks," but until then, they are weary, and rightfully so.)

Siena

Siena

Letitia, a Romanian resident, found a puppy with a broken leg, presumably hit by a car. The puppy was about 3-4 months old and had a femur fracture. Letitia took her to the doctor, who put the broken leg in a cast. The puppy received vaccines and deparasite medicine. Now her leg is fully healed, she is eating well, gaining weight, playing with other dogs, etc. She is sociable with other animals and children, likes traveling in the car and would be an adorable dog for any family.

Ambi After 3 Leg Surgeries Needs a Permanent Loving Home

Ambi After 3 Leg Surgeries Needs a Permanent Loving Home

Probably beaten or hit by a car, she was thrown into the garbage bin with both back legs broken. The one who put her there was never seen, but we assume thought her dead. The children found Ambi crying from a garbage bin and they cried for help also to a well known animal lover in the area, Mr. Vasile who has 2 adopted dogs of his own, and made some more room for Ambi. He took her to the vet, and is currently fostering her in Braila, Romania until January when Ambi will continue her journey to UK.

Billy's Wheels

Billy's Wheels

With so many stray animals roaming the streets of Romania, many are hit by cars. Those dogs not killed are maimed, often requiring surgery to set their broken bones and treat their wounds. If their spine is broken, the only way for these dogs to walk again without trailing their hind legs, is to fit them into dog wheelchairs that support their hind legs.

The parasites that were in her gastrointestinal tract are now gone and she is 100% healthy. She recently went to the groomer and had a proper bath and had her hair clipped. Her paws look incredibly cute now that they have been trimmed. Her fur continues to get softer and glistens beautifully in the sunshine.

Sending Cara to Canada

Sending Cara to Canada

Cara is a blind Doberman that we have been asked to help. It is believed that Cara was probably used as a breeder dog, and then dumped on the street after her producing days were over (even though she is blind). She needs a lot of TLC, and this is exactly what Rebecca offers her in Victoria! In May, Cara was transported to Canada to be with Rebecca. She is in Victoria, British Columbia now.

Stuart Then

Stuart Then

When you think of a dog, an image that often springs to mind is one with a tail wagging, head held confidently, fur covering most of his body. Stuart looks nothing like this image. He was found near train tracks in Timisoara, tail tucked between his legs, head apologetically pointing to the ground, and with so few tufts of hair on his body they could be counted.
