August 2011 Special Announcement: Bitza - Hit by Car - No Longer Wanted

After being hit by a car, Bitza is not wanted any longer.

Until this morning, Bitza was the dog of a restaurant. Now nobody wants him back there, just because he was hit by a car. The dog will recover--there will be no need for a cart. He is a beautiful mix that deserves a better life. The vet said he will be fine in a few months.

A waitress paid for the taxi to transport Bitza to the vet clinic, and she almost got fired for doing so.

Now poor Bitza is not allowed to enter in the yard of the restaurant any more, where he used to be permitted a drink of water. He was left on the street, where he can be hit by a car again anytime.

The one who helps is the same man, Mr. Vasile, who also takes care of Ambi, the dog with broken legs. We need money for treatment and for fostering Bitza, until we can find a home where he is loved and wanted.

The owner of the restaurant was very proud of this dog when her husband was alive. But after he died she changed and fired everybody who saved food for strays. She fears Bitza will remain crippled and will scare away the customers.

Please help Bitza get the care he needs.

Mrs. Lucretia is a kind lady from Iasi, Romania who loves her animals and tries to provide as best as she can for them. She has lots of them, 16 cats and 20 dogs, some of them being rescued from the streets. Each one has been spayed/neutered. Many of her animals were brought to her by people to foster them until they found new homes, but have not contacted her again. Mrs. Lucretia is not a hoarder, but she refuses to let them back on the streets. She provides good living conditions for them. She has a yard and a garden for them. The dog and the cats also live inside the house with her; none is chained. She took them all to the local shelter and the vets have happily offered to spay/neuter and vaccinate them. Mrs. Lucretia recently lost her job, and has very little alternate income. She asked Nancy very politely if we could help a little, only until she could find some work. We will also discuss with her to take some of the dogs to the local shelter.

Please help Mrs. Lucretia provide food for these dogs and cats.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I wish all of you the very best, and thank you for your support.
