The following photos show the state of animals from Romania. Although some photos in these diaries maybe graphic, we have included them to chronicle the animals' living conditions. We believe that allowing millions of unwanted animals to be born into a world of suffering, poisoning and neglect is wrong. We have the capabilities to stop this crisis, and now so does Romania! When Anna Marie was struck by a car in Galati, Romania, she was left to die on the side of the road. By chance, Nancy Janes, founder of Romania Animal Rescue Inc., was working in Galati when she found the eleven-month old puppy. Anna Marie was partially paralyzed with a broken back.

Nancy transported the puppy back to her ranch in California, and fitted her with a "wheel chair" that supports the dog’s hind legs. It took Anna Marie a couple of weeks to get used to the device and build up strength in her front legs to move around. Now she can run and play with the other dogs at the ranch.
