Photo Diary--December 2007
Romania Rescue

The following photos show the state of animals from Romania. Although some photos in these diaries maybe graphic, we have included them to chronicle the animals' living conditions. We believe that allowing millions of unwanted animals to be born into a world of suffering, poisoning and neglect is wrong. We have the capabilities to stop this crisis, and now so does Romania! Please visit our Help Us section for ways to help these animals.

Cold Snow, Warm Hearts

Hello Nancy,

Finally, we succeeded in making an adoption, and we want to say that we are truly happy. We were surprised because last night when we were with our dogs outside, playing with them in the snow (we had our first snow this season), we found this adorable boxer female. She is three, maybe four years old, and is full of love. We took her in our house to deparasite her, and made her a warm bath. This morning, when Viorel went to work, he decided to find someone to adopt her. He found one of his colleagues who lives in a house with a big yard and wanted to adopt the dog.

What a great day! We found this precious dog and then were able to get the "doggy" adopted. You can't imagine how we feel now that we know the dog is staying in a loving place that is warm. On the other hand, we are upset to know that there are more dogs on the street that are facing the cold.

We love you,
Geo and Viorel

P.S. Here is a picture with the female dog and her new owner

Santa Visits Mr. Cenac's Shelter

Santa took some time out of his busy schedule to visit the dogs at Mr. Cenac's shelter in Galati, Romania.

Letters to Santa

Dear Santa,

My name is Ella and I live on the streets in a district in Galati, Romania. I am 4 months. I’m not neutered and vaccinated but my friends Geo and Dr. Gheorhita will fix that soon.

If it is possible to adopt me now that Christmas is approaching, this would be a wonderful gift for me. I am full of love. If you want to adopt me please contact Nancy Janes at romaniadogs@sbcglobal.net. I will wait for you.

Love,
Ella

Dear Santa,

We are four brothers and we live in the shelter of Mr. Cenac in Galati, Romania. Now that Santa is approaching, we wish that someone adopt us because we feel alone here, even though Mr. Cenac loves us.

We want Santa to be this year very good and accomplish our wish.

With Love,
Diva, Cora, Rex and Bobby

Santa Visits Mr. Cenac's Shelter

Santa thought this year to make a surprise visit to the dogs, not just to the people. So he went to Mr. Cenac's shelter to see the dogs and spoke to the four puppies that wrote him a letter. He didn't arrive with empty hands; he came with dog food that MARS offered him. He played with the puppies but didn't promise that they will be adopted. He will talk to some people about adopting them.
