We always need funding for the ongoing spay/neuter program in Galati.
The only way the animals will win in Galati and other regions of Romania
is with support and help from YOU! We continue to work diligently to
spay/neuter animals free of charge in Galati, and hope to do this for as
long as there is a need.
To help us reach our goal of 1500 spay neuter operations in 2008,
please
participate in the
Fundraiser. As a thank you, we will send you our photobook, HOPE: Introducing Animal Welfare to
Romania.
Dr. Ileana has given us the latest report of the spay/neuter surgeries. Thanks to the
support of generous donors, these animals will live a happier, healthier life and will not have to witness their offspring suffering.
Since 2004, RAR has funded over 4371 spay/neuter surgeries. We couldn't have
done it without the help from Dr. Ileana and other veterinarians, and from
the generous donations from foundations, other organizations, and from
people like you. There are still an estimated 14,000 strays in Galati, so
please continue your support!

1 February 2008 numbers are low due to lack of funds to spay/neuter these animals. Your assistance to fund spay/neuter operations in future months would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks to the Mayhew Animal Home and the
Humane Society of the United
States, Dr. Ileana is the most qualified veterinarian in Galati. In 2004, the Humane Society of the United States Rural Area Veterinary Services went to Galati, at the request of Romania Animal Rescue, to train Dr. Ileana on
modern surgical techniques. In March 2006, Dr. Ileana was sent by RAR to the Mayhew Animal Home in London, where she received intense training on early age spay/neuter and other procedures. Being as highly skilled as she is, Dr. Ileana has now volunteered to share her knowledge with veterinarians throughout Galati. She herself has offered to train vets so RAR can keep our valuable funds solely for spay/neuter. She is a wonderful person, and we are honored to have her on board!
Mr. Cenac from the city hall shelter is very grateful to RAR for providing him with flotation heaters to keep the water at the shelter from freezing this next winter. Thanks to our donors, YOU, this was possible.
The spay/neuter program has
been made possible with the support of generous donors. READ MORE...
We intend to spay/neuter as
many dogs as we can afford with the help of international volunteer
veterinarians. Anyone who would like to volunteer should contact Nancy
Janes at romaniadogs@sbcglobal.net.
Even if you are not a vet, but just would like to come and help us, don't
hesitate to contact us!
